Sở hữu hồ sơ “siêu khủng”, tuy nhiên khá bất ngờ khi HLV Masatada Ishii của đội tuyển Thái Lan chỉ nhận mức lương khiêm tốn.
HLV Masatada Ishii được bổ nhiệm dẫn dắt đội tuyển Thái Lan từ tháng 12/2023 thay thế vị trí cựu HLV Mano Polking để lại. Với bản hợp đồng kéo dài đến hết World Cup 2026, ông Ishii trở thành huấn luyện viên trưởng người Nhật thứ hai của ĐT Thái Lan, sau người đồng hương Akira Nishino.
Đáng chú ý, trước khi dẫn dắt đội tuyển Thái Lan, vị chiến lược gia 57 tuổi người Nhật Bản sở hữu hồ sơ “siêu khủng”. Theo giới thiệu, HLLV Masatada Ishii là cựu cầu thủ Nhật Bản. Khi còn thi đấu, ông từng vô địch J.League với Kashima Antlers vào năm 1996.
HLV Masatada Ishii ký hợp đồng đến hết World Cup 2026 với ĐT Thái Lan
Sau khi giải nghệ, ông Masatada Ishii trở thành HLV đội một của CLB Kashima Antlers từ năm 1999. Phải đến năm 2015, ông mới lên làm HLV trưởng và ngay lập tức thành công. Dưới thời Masatada Ishii, CLB Kashima Antlers trải qua 2 năm thành công nhất lịch sử khi giành 4 danh hiệu lớn ở Nhật Bản, bao gồm J.League 2016 và đưa đội này vào đến tận chung kết FIFA Club World Cup 2016, giải đấu họ cầm hòa Real Madrid 2-2 trong hai hiệp chính trước khi thua ở hiệp phụ.
Tuy nhiên, như mọi HLV khác, sự nghiệp của Ishii không phải lúc nào cũng màu hồng. Ông bị Kashima Antlers sa thải vì khởi đầu kém cỏi trong mùa 2017, rồi chuyển đến Omiya Ardija, cùng CLB xuống chơi ở J League 2. Thất bại trong việc đưa đội bóng vùng Saitama thăng hạng ở mùa 2018, HLV Ishii quyết định từ chức.
Để dành thời gian cho gia đình, thậm chí vị chiến lược gia người Nhật Bản từng có thời gian nghỉ công việc huấn luyện để chuyển sang làm phụ bếp cho một trung tâm cung cấp bữa ăn trưa cho trường học ở Kashima trong một thời gian ngắn.
Sau khi nghỉ công việc phụ bếp, đến tháng 12/2019, HLV Ishii được bổ nhiệm làm huấn luyện viên trưởng của câu lạc bộ Samut Prakan City thi đấu tại Thai League 1. Tại xứ sở chùa vàng, sự nghiệp của HLV Masatada Ishii thăng hoa cùng Buriram United khi giành cú ăn 3 trong hai mùa giải liên tiếp (2021/22 và 2022/23).
Sở hữu hồ sơ ấn tượng, tuy nhiên HLV Masatada Ishii chỉ nhận được mức lương khiêm tốn ở ĐT Thái Lan. Cụ thể, tiền lương của HLV Masatada Ishii được báo chí Thái Lan thông tin là ngang với lương của HLV Mano Polking trước đây, tức vào khoảng 1 triệu baht/tháng (khoảng 700 triệu đồng/tháng). Trong đó Liên đoàn bóng đá Thái Lan (FAT) sẽ chi 500.000 baht (khoảng 350 triệu đồng) trong khoản lương của ông Ishii, nữ tỷ phú Madam Pang chi 500.000 baht còn lại.
Vị chiến lược gia người Nhật hưởng lương khoảng 700 triệu đồng/tháng
Mức lương HLV Masatada Ishii của đội tuyển Thái Lan kém xa so với người đồng nghiệp Shin Tae-yong bên phía đội tuyển Indonesia. Theo tờ Bola, trước khi gia hạn hợp đồng mới đến năm 2027, mức lương của ông Shin Tae-yong đã là 1,5 triệu USD/năm (38 tỷ đồng). Sau khi gia hạn, mức lương trong hợp đồng mới của vị huấn luyện viên dự kiến cũng được tăng đáng kể, tuy nhiên con số cụ thể chưa được tiết lộ.
HLV Masatada Ishii có mức lương nhỉnh hơn so với người đồng nghiệp Kim Sang Sik của đội tuyển Việt Nam khi vị chiến lược gia người Hàn Quốc được cho rằng nhận mức lương 20.000 USD đến 22.000 USD (hơn 500 triệu đồng) mỗi tháng sau thuế.
Hiện người hâm mộ bóng đá khu vực ĐNÁ đang trông chờ cuộc đối đầu giữa hai vị chiến lược gia khi Việt Nam và Thái Lan sẽ gặp nhau ở 2 trận đấu vòng chung kết AFF Cup 2024.
